I do low-carb paleo, eating the amount of carbs that keep my blood sugar in line. I get about 30g / day from green vegetables and the occasional spaghetti squash. For the paleo part, I am enjoying grass-fed meats, pastured eggs and butter. They taste better to me which is a nice bonus on top of eating a bit more ethically/sustainably than caged/factory animals.  I avoid grains/gluten and legumes because they don&#039;t agree with my digestion. Same for most dairy with the exception of butter and small amounts of greek yogurt. Basically my food list is driven by what makes me feel the best, not based on what some book says. In the end it looks pretty close to &quot;paleo&quot;.  Try to keep in mind that there is no standard paleo diet with a hard and fast &quot;eat this not this list&quot;. Instead it&#039;s more of a starting point or template for tweaking your diet and finding what gives you optimal health. Remove stuff that pretty much doesn&#039;t work with most people, try it for 30 days and slowly add back to see what foods you tolerate.  Here&#039;s a good article which goes a bit more in depth on looking at the paleo diet as a template and not a strict diet.  My opinion? It&#039;s worth tinkering with your diet (no matter what it&#039;s called) to figure out which foods work with your individual needs. So give it a shot and most likely you will be able to find improvements that will have you feeling better.
