We will hit boston, likely in 2010 but not sure when. At present the NJ gig is about 1/2 sold out in a DAY. The east Coast is so population dense stuff just goes like wild-fire. if you cannot make the NJ gig we will be back.

Robb, how much new content is there beyond what I got in the CF Nutrition cert? I'm assuming that since you're doing a full day that there will be new content, but I'd like to know how much is just going to be review for me. I've read the Cordain, Sisson, Taubes, and Sears books, in addition to your blog and a few others.

Robb, I hope you and Nicki plan to visit NYC while you're in Hoboken since we're literally across the river.

If you guys need a tour guide, just let me know. :)

Hey Robb.
Happy to see that you're on the road again. Should I make the drive to NJ or will you be in the Boston area soon? Sorry, just anxious and not sure how much time I have before NJ sells out. Keep up the good work!
Thanks,
Mark

Robb,
You may want to change the acronym because it also stands for Pseudo-Science Seminar. LOL. I can't wait until the book and the seminar comes to a city near me. Thanks for all your doing.

Rob,

I hope that SPC CrossFit in Hudson OH was an early entrant on that list. I put our name in the day after the "incident" came out. We would love for you to come our way or make a book tour stop. Thanks and keep up the great work. Have a great day.

Hi Robb! Loving the podcasts, keep em coming! I had a question about cooking nuts. I know that you are not supposed to and that there is a good scientific reason (the heat changes something, but I don't remember what...). But what I want to know is if there is a temperature that it is OK to heat to that doesn't alter the structure? Like can I put them in a dehydrator (@135 degrees) and dry them out, or would that do the same thing?

I know that you are not supposed to and that there is a good scientific reason (the heat changes something, but I don’t remember what…). But what I want to know is if there is a temperature that it is OK to heat to that doesn’t alter the structure? Like can I put them in a dehydrator (@135 degrees) and dry them out, or would that do the same thing?

Hey Coach Wolf!
First off congrats on all of the progress with the book and the seminars and other stuff. It seems like '010 is going to be banging for ya!
I had just a couple of quick questions, no biggie:
1) What is the official non-official view of protein shakes? It’s been on the blog that you think they generally make people fat and result in a high insulin spike. Although you have also posted your own way you make them yourself and how you use them for Low Carb PWO. Though in the same posting you wrote how you were able to lean out and you were running under 50g Carb a day. Welbourn recently posted that they are great because of Pro absorption and the insulin spike is beneficial, mainly stating the shake is great PWO. Basically im running a paleo challenge at our box and im getting it from all angles about this stuff. Although I think the tinker answer might work best: tell clients to use em, still not LPF to desire, cut em. Sub questions: did you lean out/do you recommend up tick in fish oil daily dosage when using shakes? If using shakes should you try and limit carbs just as an "in case" scenario?
These last 2 are client conundrums:
2) I have a D-Type 1 client who is having trouble stripping weight. She has made pretty decent progress, still has a knack for the occasional grain, cant get a commitment on going full paleo but she has also been able to come down from insulin dosages and if Im correct may not be taking them at all anymore. She also barely eats, no real hunger for food. Most of her weight is in the middle of the belly and right below the navel to above the pubic bone. I have her looking into cortisol supplementation as per Byers blog post. She also carries the "teacher fat" right behind the tri's. Suggestions sir?
3) I also have started working with a new client whose thyroid was shut down from an RAI (Radio active iodine) capsule. She had suffered from two bouts with eating disorders (anorexia) which from the sounds caused a lot of stress on the thyroid leading to its malfunction and later resulting in termination. I have been snooping online but wanted to get a pseudoscience pro's opinion on maybe some help full hints in dealing with such a client i.e. would straight paleo work or a lower carb approach be better etc? I have gotten her to break up with beer but she also has no hunger for food really. Also a smoker, but after last nights short metcon...i think shes quitting.
Ive told you several times already but Robb means "awesome" in Eskimo.
Thanks so much coach,
Chris

Totally unrelated, but we need better cartoons of cavemen. I mean, from what we know now they were probably tall, good-looking, muscular, and had perfect teeth. They didn't look like Homer Simpson/Barney Gumbel at all. Drawing them that was *is* pseudo-science and a distinct agriculturalist bias. :)
