I am meeting with Videographer Brian Peterson tomorrow to go through highlights and low-points for a documentary of the event to be relased shortly. I suspect this will be very emotional for both of us to witness again in such a short time. A teaser of this video will be aired at the Friday night celebration (and streamed live) for all to see.

Thank you for all of your comments, and for simply giving a shit for what myself and many others are trying to do/accomplish.It means a lot to me, and I am certain for those that have jumped into this event with me. I agree that we have touched far too many people to place a check in the loss column. At least that is my personal feeling on the outcome of the event. With that said the ride is far from over, for that I am certain.

Awesome job Lou!

Hard luck not quite taking out the record, but from the sounds of things no-one could have asked any more of you. I’m positive you have truly inspired countless people out there. I feel like your efforts send a great message to go after your goals with passion and intensity, even though they might seem impossible. In my opinion, your effort in itself is more important than actually breaking the record – congratulations!

Robb, hats off to you and your team for the great support and preparation given to Lou, and for the very vivid description of the event/ordeal!

WOW. I watched the live feed from my office and home here in Montreal in awe. What a challenge and beating to the body and mind…! Incredible.

Sorry to have seen Lou didn’t quite make it but oh! SO close!! Sounds like he needs to learn to listen to his coach, ha ha!

Very impressive! Considering that an hour and a half on the set wears me out, I can’t imagine how Lou did it. How many days straight did he sleep afterwards?

Congrats to all involved. You did a great job and inspired us all. I can feel for lou and not wanting to break a record sitting there tapping away. That’s not a drummers nature! He was put here to rock out and for 108.5 hours, he did just that! Great work Lou!

Excellent post.
I tuned in multiple times during the 5 days, and it truely was amazing to see the energy Lou was playing with and the show he was putting on the whole time. Really got me pumped to see it in action… and I’m sure it was even better to be there in person!

I have to say, I watched Lou drum quite a bit over the 5 days…Recently I was accepted into the Alzheimer’s Run for the Memory team to run the Boston Marathon in April. I have never run a marathon. I have been training using Crossfit and eating Paleo since 9/18/09. Weight has been lost, blood work has come back with numbers better than ever, strength has increased, running times and distances have improved. As I watched Lou, I kept thinking if he can “rock out” on the drums like this for this long, running a couple of hours (okay probably closer to 4 is doable). For that I would like to thank you Lou. You are an inspiration and have set the bar high!

Awesome post. A real friend once told me that she considers me a friend because she can tell me “you’re being a bitch” while handing me a beer at the same time, and our friendship will still stand strong. I think it’s great that you can tell your friends “you’re being stupid” and they still love you for it. I’ve been learning a lot lately about unconditional love lately. That same friend told me, “If I don’t like you, I’m not going to tell you when you’re wrong. I’m going to let you make mistake after mistake and allow you to make a fool of yourself.” I didn’t know you knew him for over 4 years which makes this post even better.
1. You and Nikki are his true friend because even when you thought it was crazy-doable, you decided to do it.
2. A real friend lays down his interest to benefit his brother; you two did this by sacrificing your precious sleep to make sure he made it through.
3. All three of you have a deepened respect for each other because even though you didn’t “win”, you understand that sometimes getting the prize doesn’t make you a winner. You saw the worst and best in each other and I always believe that your best always outshines the worst when sacrificing yourself for others. I will tell you this, I have HUGE respect for all of you. I only sacrificed 15 hours of sleep and I’m STILL recovering. You guys and especially Lou….woah!

Great post Robb, really explained what it was like to be there. This was by far the most motivating and impressive physical feat I have ever seen. Lou’s energy really came through, and his commitment to taking on the record HIS way is far more impressive than a technical “win” would have been, and I think did more to bring attention to the causes he was promoting. I’m really looking forward to the interview tonight.

CONGRATS to Lou and the NorCal gang! I popped in and out of the live stream and was amazed. Although I’m sad Lou didn’t break the record, he’s still amazing in my book! Doing anything like that for 108.5 hrs is extraordinary.
